His teaching career blossomed and more opportunities to perform appeared in Buenos Aires. Between 2008 and late 2010 he performed regularly in three of the most popular and traditional Tango houses: “Sabor a Tango”, “La Cumparsita” and “South Bar”. Where he also taught and gave tango seminars before each show.
In 2010 he was part of the Queer Tango Festival in Buenos Aires, where he performed and taught with Diego Gonzalez and other great masters with whom he shares the first steps of this festival that today is the most important Queer Tango in the world.
Gastón Olguín is a very talented teacher and tango dancer. Through his ballet training he was exposed to rigorous dance techniques which helped him develop his current method of teaching tango.
His teaching method includes elements of bio-mechanics which are applied to help students discover the natural movements of their body in the dance act.
The specific exercises he uses to improve body awareness are initiated from what he calls the “home position”. Then, without imposing a rigid order to the learning process, he progresses from simple movements to more complex structures.
